The Next Generation Evidence Map is an interactive portal that highlights the themes, topics and questions asked in our Next Generation research reports, according to the regions and countries that the research has been conducted in.
Each piece of Next Generation research uses a mixed methodology approach and includes a desk-based literature review, a national survey with a diverse segment of young people covering both urban and rural locations, and additional sources such as interviews and focus group discussions. Next Generation reports also produce a series of recommendations supporting youth voice in policy making.
The Next Generation Evidence Map focuses on the themes, topics and questions asked in the survey component of the research. The Evidence Map does not include all country reports conducted as part of the Next Generation programme due to compatibility.

There are three circles in the evidence map which corresponds to the type of questions asked on a Next Generation survey (multiple choice, open-ended and yes/no). The size of the circle represents the number of questions asked.
Selecting a circle (
) will bring you to the bottom to see the original question and response options. You can also export the dashboard into PNG, JPEG, PDF, and SVG by clicking the on the bottom right corner.
Hover over each circle () to see how many questions were asked for each country/region and theme/sub-theme. Questions were classified as multiple choice (blue), open-ended (green) and yes/no (pink). The size of the circle tells you how frequently a question was asked. Boxes with no circles could suggest opportunities for future research inquiries.

Filters have been added to help you navigate quickly to a specific topic of interest.
